Kentucky’s flag features the state seal on a field of blue. The seal depicts a pioneer and a statesman shaking hands, symbolizing unity. Encircling the seal are the words “Commonwealth of Kentucky” and the state motto, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.” The goldenrod, the state flower, adorns the bottom of the seal, representing the state’s natural beauty.
