The battalion lance finial is a one-piece solid brass lance head with a bright polished gold finish, 9 1/4 IN long, for indoor and parade military flagpoles. It is the longer, more formal cousin of the Army spear, used on battalion and regimental colors and on ceremonial poles where a taller finial suits the flag. It fits standard flagpole ferrules from 3/4 IN to 1 1/4 IN.

Lance or spear?

The lance is taller and more formal, suited to organizational colors and 9 FT poles. The spear is shorter and standard for guidons and 8 FT poles. Either is correct for a ceremonial pole.

Will it fit my pole?

It fits standard ferrules from 3/4 IN to 1 1/4 IN, which covers our indoor and parade poles and most others. Call us with the ferrule size if you are unsure.

Is it solid brass?

Yes. One-piece cast brass, polished. It is not plated.

How do I keep it bright?

Polish occasionally with a brass cleaner and a soft cloth. Indoors it will hold its shine for years between polishings.

Can it go outdoors?

It is made for indoor and parade use. Brass will tarnish faster with weather exposure.
