National Capital Flag business accounts give agencies, schools, universities, hotels, and companies tax-exempt purchasing and ordering on a purchase order. Open one account and buy stock flags, custom flags, hardware, and repairs from the same place.

Who we serve

Who requests business accounts?

National Capital Flag business accounts are for organizations that buy flags as part of running a building, a campus, or a fleet of them. Below are the buyers we set up most often, though business accounts work the same way for any company, HOA, funeral home, or nonprofit that orders regularly.

Federal agencies

Civilian agencies, USPS facilities, VA medical centers and national cemeteries, and military commands. Most federal buyers need US flags for daily display plus a separate set for ceremonies and protocol.

State, county, and city government

Courthouses, town halls, parks departments, public works yards, and libraries. A state or city building usually flies three flags at once.

Fire, police, and EMS

Station house flags take a beating from wind and exhaust. Departments also need ceremonial flags for services, department events, and memorials.

Schools and school districts

Classroom flags, outdoor pole flags, and gymnasium flags, ordered building by building or for the whole district at once. Districts often reorder on the same calendar every year.

Colleges and universities

Campus pole flags, indoor presentation flags for commencement and ceremony, and custom flags carrying the school seal or wordmark in appliqué or print.

Hotels and hospitality

US, state, and country flags for entrances, lobbies, and conference space, plus custom property flags. Hospitality buyers replace on a schedule because the front of the building is the first thing a guest sees.

What does a business account provide?

Two things separate business accounts from an ordinary card checkout: you can buy without sales tax once your exemption certificate is on file, and you can order on a purchase order instead of paying up front. Everything else about the catalog stays the same.

Tax-exempt purchasing

Send your exemption certificate once. We put it on file and your orders are processed without sales tax, so nobody has to chase a refund after the fact.

Purchase orders accepted

Order on your organization’s purchase order. Send it to us and we process it the same as any other order, with the documentation your finance office expects. Net 30 terms are available on approved credit.

Quotes for the quantities you need

Send sizes, quantities, and SKUs if you have them. We price the list and send it back in writing, so you have something to attach to a requisition.

How do agencies and institutions buy flags?

Most of the organizations we set up with business accounts are buying for a building rather than for a house, and that changes what they need to get right. Three things come up on nearly every account: Specification, Replacement, and the Flag Code protocol that public buildings are held to.

How it works

Setting up a business account

Setting up a business account takes one form and one email exchange. Business accounts are not required to get a quote, and you do not need a quote to open one.

1. Send the request

Fill out the form below. If you already know you are tax exempt and have your certificate ready, you can skip the wait and open the business account yourself.

2. We confirm the details

We email you to confirm contacts, billing and shipping addresses, and to collect your exemption certificate if you have one.

3. Send us your list

Tell us the flags, sizes, and quantities. We put the pricing in writing so you have something to attach to a requisition.

4. Order on a purchase order

Send the purchase order and we process the order. Net 30 terms are available once a credit application is approved, so tell us early if terms matter to your purchasing process. If you are not using a purchase order, you can pay by card, check, or ACH.

No. You can request a quote any time through our custom flag quote form or the contact page. Business accounts matter when you want tax-exempt purchasing and want to order on a purchase order.

Upload it when you create your tax-exempt account, or send it to us after you fill out the form on this page. We keep it on file so you do not have to send it with every order.

Yes. Send the purchase order to [email protected] and we process the order against it.

No. There is no minimum order quantity on a business account. Order a single flag or a pallet of them.

Yes. Federal buyers order from us on a purchase order, and we can send the registration details your vendor file needs. [confirm and insert our SAM.gov UEI and CAGE code, plus the GSA Schedule contract number only if we actually hold one — contracting officers verify this on GSA eLibrary]

Yes. Send the addresses with your order and tell us what goes where, and we will ship to each location.

Yes, on business accounts, subject to a credit application and approval. Not every account qualifies. If terms matter to your purchasing process, say so when you request the account and we will start that review early.

Yes. We repair worn flags and retire flags that are past repair. See Repair & Disposal for how to send them in.
