Product Description
This Saudi Arabia flag with fringe is made for indoor display at embassies, consulates, offices, and conference rooms. The green field with the white Shahada and sword is printed on UV-resistant 200 denier nylon, the pole hem is flannel-lined with Velcro tabs, and the flag is finished with a 2.5 IN golden yellow rayon fringe. Made in the USA, in 3 FT x 5 FT and 4 FT x 6 FT.
We supply flags to the diplomatic community in Washington, and the Saudi flag is one we keep in stock in indoor and outdoor finishes. Because the flag carries the Islamic declaration of faith, the inscription is printed to the official proportions so it reads correctly from the front. For a matched set, see our country flags.

Historical Background
The flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was adopted in its present form in 1973, though the green field and Shahada go back to the flags of the House of Saud in the nineteenth century. The inscription reads There is no god but God; Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Beneath it lies a sword, added by King Abdulaziz, whose unification of the kingdom the sword commemorates. Because the flag bears the Shahada, it is never flown at half-staff and is made so the inscription reads correctly on both faces.
A Saudi Arabia flag with fringe is the indoor form used at the embassy in Washington, at consulates, and in offices where the flag stands beside the American flag.
