Product Description

The Liberty Stand in gold is the floor stand under most of the indoor flag sets we sell. It is an indoor flag pole base that takes poles from 1 IN to 1 1/4 IN, with two removable inserts to take up the difference, and it is molded from ABS plastic so the finish does not chip the way painted metal can. Choose an unweighted stand for parade sets you carry, a standard or large-capacity weighted stand for a lobby or stage, or an empty stand you fill with sand on site.

Weight is what keeps a tall pole steady. We recommend at least 8 lb. for an 8 FT pole and 15 lb. for a 9 FT pole, and the 20 lb. option for a 9 FT pole with a 4 FT x 6 FT fringed flag. The gold finish matches our gold spears, eagles, and cord and tassel sets, and the same indoor flag pole base is available in chrome.

Liberty Indoor Flag Pole Base Features

  • Fits 1 IN to 1 1/4 IN poles – two removable inserts let one stand take any of our indoor and parade poles.
  • Four weight options – unweighted, 8 lb., 15 lb., or 20 lb., plus an empty version to fill with sand.
  • ABS plastic with gold finish – the color is in the material, so it does not chip or flake.
  • Low profile – sits flat on carpet, tile, or a stage floor without a mat.
  • Matches gold hardware – pairs with our gold spear finials, Classic Eagle, and golden yellow cord and tassel.

Historical Background

The Liberty stand pattern has been the standard indoor flag base in American schools, courthouses, and government offices for decades. A round, weighted base with a center socket keeps a flag upright without brackets or wall mounts, so it can be moved for a ceremony and put back afterward. Removable inserts let one stand serve poles of different diameters, which is why institutions that own a mix of poles buy this one.

Gold was the original finish because it matched the brass and gilt hardware of ceremonial poles. Chrome came later for offices with silver fittings.

Which weight should I order?

8 lb. for an 8 FT pole with a 3 FT x 5 FT flag. 15 lb. for a 9 FT pole. 20 lb. if the 9 FT pole carries a 4 FT x 6 FT fringed flag or stands where people brush past it.

What is the empty option for?

It ships light and you fill it with sand on site, which saves freight on large orders and lets you set the weight yourself.

Will it hold a 1 3/8 IN pole?

No. This stand is for 1 IN to 1 1/4 IN poles. A 1 3/8 IN pole needs a stand made for it. Call us and we will match one.

Does it come with the pole?

No. The stand is sold alone. See our oak flagpole and finials to build the set.

Is the gold real metal?

No. It is a gold-color ABS plastic, chosen because the finish will not chip. For a metal stand, see the Commodore Stand.
