Product Description
A car window American flag clips to the top edge of a rolled-up window and flies beside the car. This one is 11 IN x 14 IN, printed on UV-resistant 100% polyester, with double-needle lock-stitched hems. The clip mount slides over the window glass; roll the window up and the flag is held in place.
It is the flag people put on the car for a parade, a game, Memorial Day weekend, or July 4. It is made in the USA. For a fender-mounted flag with a staff and an eagle, see our auto flag with fringe or the magnetic fender flag set.

Historical Background
The Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes on June 14, 1777, with 13 stripes for the original colonies and 13 stars for a new constellation. As states joined the Union the star count grew, and the 50-star pattern in use today was set on July 4, 1960 after Hawaii became a state. The rules for displaying the flag, including half-staff and nighttime display, are set out in the United States Flag Code.
Flags on cars go back to the early motorcade, when officials and military commanders flew their colors from a staff on the fender. The window clip flag is the everyday version that arrived with mass-produced plastics: a small flag anyone can put on the family car for a parade or a holiday weekend and take off the same evening.
