Product Description
The Mansion set is a spinning flagpole with solar light built in, so the flag can stay up after dark the way the Flag Code asks. The 6 FT two-piece white aluminum pole turns 360 degrees on ball bearings over its upper 40 IN, which keeps the flag from wrapping when the wind shifts. The angle-adjustable three-LED light charges by day and lights the flag at night on its own.
The set includes a 3 FT x 5 FT US flag sewn from heavyweight 200 denier nylon with embroidered stars, sewn stripes, a reinforced fly end, and brass grommets, made in the USA. A gold ball finial and a multi-position white cast aluminum bracket complete the kit.
Spinning Flagpole with Solar Light Features
- Three-LED solar light – mounts on the pole, adjusts to aim at the flag, and switches on at dusk without wiring.
- Ball-bearing spinning top – the upper 40 IN of the pole rotates 360 degrees so the flag unwraps itself.
- 6 FT white aluminum pole – two-piece construction, white finish to match trim and siding.
- 3 FT x 5 FT embroidered nylon US flag – heavyweight 200 denier nylon, embroidered stars, sewn stripes, reinforced fly end, brass grommets. Made in the USA.
- Multi-position cast aluminum bracket – rustproof white bracket that mounts flat or angled on most exterior surfaces.
- Gold ball finial – the traditional top for a residential pole.
Historical Background
Two things this set does have their roots in the United States Flag Code. The Code says the flag should be displayed from sunrise to sunset, and may be flown at night only if it is properly illuminated. Before solar lighting, that meant a wired spotlight or taking the flag in every evening. A solar light on the pole makes the all-night display simple for a home.
The spinning pole answers the older problem of the flag wrapping around a fixed pole when the wind changes. Building the rotation into the pole on ball bearings, rather than clipping rings to it, is what made spinning poles the standard for daily home display.
