US Flag and Spinning Pole Estate Set

• Two-piece spinning pole
• 3×5 nylon US flag
• Adjustable cast aluminum bracket

Made in the USA

Product Description

The Estate spinning flagpole set solves the one problem every house flag has: wrapping around the pole. The top 40 IN of the two-piece aluminum pole turns on ball bearings, so when the wind shifts the flag turns with it and unwinds itself. There is no separate anti-furling device to buy or install.

The set includes a 3 FT x 5 FT colorfast nylon US flag with embroidered stars and sewn stripes, a gold ball top, a heavy-duty cast aluminum adjustable bracket, and the mounting hardware. The bracket adjusts to several angles so the pole can mount on siding, brick, or a porch post. The set is made in the USA.

Spinning Flagpole Set Features

  • Ball-bearing spinning top – the upper 40 IN of the pole rotates freely, so the flag unwraps itself instead of twisting around the pole.
  • Two-piece aluminum pole – ships in two sections for a compact carton.
  • 3 FT x 5 FT nylon US flag – colorfast, outdoor-grade nylon with embroidered stars and sewn stripes.
  • Adjustable cast aluminum bracket – mounts at several angles on most exterior surfaces, with hardware included.
  • Gold ball top – the traditional finial for a residential pole.
  • Made in the USA – flag and set.

Historical Background

Spinning poles were introduced to fix a problem as old as the house flag itself: a flag on a fixed pole wraps around it every time the wind changes direction, and someone has to go out and unwind it. Early fixes were rings and rotating collars that clipped to the pole. The spinning pole builds the rotation into the pole itself, with the whole upper section turning on ball bearings, which is why it became the standard choice for homeowners who fly the flag every day.

The flag in this set is the same 50-star flag adopted on July 4, 1960 after Hawaii became a state. The rules for displaying it, including lighting it at night and flying it at half-staff, are set out in the United States Flag Code.

How does the spinning pole keep the flag from wrapping?

The top 40 IN of the pole is a separate section that turns on ball bearings. When the wind shifts and starts to wrap the flag, the section turns with it and the flag falls free.

What is included?

The two-piece spinning pole, a 3 FT x 5 FT nylon US flag, a gold ball top, the cast aluminum adjustable bracket, and installation hardware.

Can I use a different flag on it?

Yes. Any 3 FT x 5 FT American flag with the same hoist finish as the included flag will fit. Call us before ordering a flag with a different finish.

What is the difference between the Estate, Mansion, and Residential sets?

All three spin. The Mansion set adds a solar light for nighttime display. The Residential set is a free-standing 8 FT pole on a cast aluminum base with a 4 FT x 6 FT flag, for a lawn or storefront instead of a wall.

Can I fly this flag at night?

Yes, if it is lit. The Flag Code calls for the flag to be illuminated when it is displayed after dark.

What do I do when the flag wears out?

Bring it to us or send it in. We offer flag repair and respectful disposal for flags that have served their time.
