Product Description
The gold adjustable flagpole is an anodized aluminum parade pole that extends from 5 FT to 9 FT, so one pole serves a low-ceilinged office, a stage, and a parade route. It is 1 1/8 IN in diameter, light enough for a color guard to carry all afternoon, and finished in bright gold to match gold finials and cord and tassel sets.
An adjustable pole earns its place with groups that present flags in different venues: a church that processes with a flag on Sunday and stands it by the altar during the week, a school that uses one set on the gym floor and on the auditorium stage, a veterans’ post that marches in June and displays indoors in November. Set the height, lock it, and go. Finials, stands, and flags are in our hardware and accessories.
Gold Adjustable Flagpole Features
- Adjusts from 5 FT to 9 FT – one pole covers every indoor ceiling height and parade requirement.
- Gold anodized aluminum – the color is anodized into the metal, not painted, so it does not chip.
- 1 1/8 IN diameter – stiff enough for a 3 FT x 5 FT or 4 FT x 6 FT fringed flag, slim enough to carry.
- Lightweight – aluminum is a fraction of the weight of oak or steel at the same length.
- Indoor and parade – fits floor stands and carrying belts alike.
Historical Background
Adjustable and telescoping poles came to color guards and processions in the twentieth century, when anodized aluminum made a light, strong pole possible. A fixed 8 FT oak pole is the traditional indoor standard, but units that move between venues found a gold adjustable flagpole simpler than owning two or three fixed poles. The Flag Code asks only that the flag be displayed with dignity, and an aluminum pole with a gold finish and a proper finial meets that standard on the march and on the stage.
